The ring fits securely over a screw or stud and won't pull loose as other terminals can. Blue ring terminals are for 16-14 AWG wire. They offer long-term protection and ease of installation. 16-14 AWG ring terminals come in a variety of insulation types. Non-insulated terminals are simply the most economical.
