The Crossbeam Shackle is Factor 55’s dedicated rigging attachment point, machined in the USA from T6-6061 Kaiser billet aluminum. This one is the orange version; Factor 55 offers the same shackle in eight colours so it can be matched to the rest of a recovery kit.
It carries two working load limits, and which one applies depends on the angle of the pull. Between 0 and 5 degrees the working load limit is 12,000 lb (5,443 kg). Between 5 and 45 degrees it is 8,400 lb (3,810 kg). Both figures are set with a 5:1 safety factor. Factor 55 laser-engraves the angle chart and the working load limits onto the shackle itself, so the numbers can be read while rigging rather than looked up.
