The BXH14161 is a Blue Ox adjustable ball mount for a 2 in receiver, with 6 in of drop or rise. The ball height is set with pins and clips and moves in 1-inch steps, so the same mount can be levelled to trailers that sit at different heights instead of keeping a separate ball mount for each one.
It comes with two balls, and the rating follows the ball you fit rather than the mount as a whole. With the 2-inch ball in place the mount is rated to 10,000 lb gross trailer weight and 1,000 lb tongue weight. With the 2-5/16-inch ball in place it is rated to 14,000 lb gross trailer weight and 1,400 lb tongue weight. Work to the figure for the ball you are actually using.
Construction is steel throughout, with a powder coat finish on the receiver shank and zinc plating on the balls, and the mount is made in the USA.

Which rating applies to my setup?
The one for the ball you have fitted. The 2-inch ball is rated to 10,000 lb gross trailer weight and 1,000 lb tongue weight; the 2-5/16-inch ball is rated to 14,000 lb gross trailer weight and 1,400 lb tongue weight. Fitting the smaller ball means the lower rating applies even though the mount is the same.
Does this rating raise what my vehicle can tow?
No. The ball mount rating describes the mount only. The towing limit is set by whichever part of the system is rated lowest, which may be the receiver, the vehicle or the trailer coupler rather than the mount.
How is the height adjusted?
The ball assembly pins to the platform, and moving it up or down one hole changes the height by 1 inch, within the 6 in of available drop or rise. Pins and clips are supplied.
